Buddy Guy to Headline the Chicago
Blues Festival
The three-day event will also mark the
centennial of blues pioneers
Muddy Waters and Willie Dixon
June 12-14, 2015

Buddy Guy, Taj Mahal Trio, Toronzo
Cannon, Syl Johnson, Clarence Carter, Zora Young,
Big Bill Morganfield, Mud Morganfield, Bobby Dixon,
Alex Dixon, Billy Branch and others will perform June
12-14 at the Petrillo Music Shell in Grant Park.
Chicago soul
man Syl Johnson will headline the Petrillo stage on Friday,
June 12 at 8:25pm. He has forged a career in both blues and soul
producing hits like "Different Strokes," "Is it Because
I'm Black" and "Take me to the River."
Then Chicago's
own Buddy Guy will bring his rhythm and blues to the
Petrillo stage on Saturday, June 13, at 8:05pm. Recently honored
with a Grammy® Lifetime Achievement Award, Buddy Guy is one of the
most talented blues guitarists of his generation.
The historic
festival finale at the Petrillo Music Shell on Sunday, June
14, at 5pm is a talent packed lineup of artists honoring Muddy
Waters and Willie Dixon. Performers include family members Big
Bill Morganfield and Mud Morganfield (sons of Muddy Waters)
as well as Bobby Dixon and Alex Dixon (son and grandson
of Willie Dixon).
The popular
day stages will also feature local and national blues musicians
celebrating the genres rich tradition and heritage. Stages and
performance times are: Bud Light Crossroads stage,
11:15am-5:30pm; the Jackson Rhythm and Blues stage,
11:30am-5:30pm and the Pepsi Front Porch, noon-5:30pm.
The Chicago
Blues Festival is FREE admission and open from 11am to 9:30pm daily.
