What Can We Do About The Violence In Our Communities??

Here's what we're doing!

Senseless Violence is ruining our families!

Philip Jackson of the Black Star Project is doing something about it.
I stopped complaining to my friends and family about our kids killing each other,
and started a project to do something about it.

We now we have options. Higher Learning Network,NFP
works with
The Link & Option Center providing Behind-The-Scenes
Radio/TV/Print Production.

We've had the honor of working with some darling young ladies
who live in the south suburbs.
Programs are now available in the city of Chicago.

I am so tired of parents telling me they can't find funding for their children to go to college. There is sooooooo much free money out here, YOU NEVER HAVE TO TAKE OUT A LOAN!
You simply need the info on where to go ONLINE!
I put myself through 8 yeas of college (and No I don't have a Doctoral Degree! I was too busy playing Bid Whist 101!)
and can show you how to do the same.

Youth Behind-The Scenes Media Training

Student Producer Jade Mitchell writes the
rules and regulations for student class before
production begins.

This class was so much fun! Now I understand
why Bill Cosby included kids in his career.
They are truly the fountain of youth and will
keep you on your toes, if not your belly, laughing!

So looking forward to more of the same!

I knew I should have been a K-teacher!

Ms. Keith and 2nd grade class
having so much fun this early in the morning.
I need to go to elementary school a little more
often! I never had this much fun as a kid, and
if I need, I surely don't remember it.

Oh well, I don't remember a lot of things, but that's ok too!

Thanks for all your help!

Thanks to all the students who made our day!

Indian Painting 1996

This is the work of ELEMENTARY
students from
Elaine O. Goodlow Magnet School

If they are painting this well in
such young grades, just imagine
what they will do as they get older.

We often criticize our children when they do
something wrong. By any means necessary
PLEASE say something positive to them when
they do something good! It goes much farther
than you'll ever know.

I am so glad I had teachers who cared!
Pray for our teachers.
They are the real leaders of the world!

This one reminded me of my days in the South,
in Mississippi, in the hot sweltering
cotton fields.

If you look close, you'll probably see me there
sweating! :)

These photos in the hall of those
who came before us to make our way
easier, was too good to pass up.

Can you guess who they are?

This last one says it all.
Make friends with Kool-Aid?
Who cares?
Make friends with a good book!
Friendships with books last
4EVER!

Community Leaders

All the work we do at The Higher Learning Network,NFP is made possible by those in the community who believe and support the work we do. Nothing is done without believers.

It is a priviledge and an honor to award those who support the work we do.
I am simply honored to have such a team that believes, not only in our mission,
but their own personal mission.

Those believers and hard workers are listed below.
Visit their websites, blogs, and links and congratulate them on the wonderful work
they do, and the difference they make in the community.

Remember, karma is always in effect!
What goes out, must come back!

Stay on purpose, stay empowered!
