	Weigh In: This May Be Our Last Chance! Tell the USDA to Revoke the Filthy Chicken Rule! The Filthy Chicken Rule Is a Huge Step Backwards Tell the USDA to Keep Our Food Safe! Dear zelda, Time is running out to stop the USDA from allowing big chicken companies to inspect their own poultry. They have already finalized the Filthy Chicken Rule, a plan that will dramatically weaken poultry inspections on factory farms. Tell the USDA to revoke the Filthy Chicken Rule before it's too late! This is a huge threat to food safety, so we're pulling out all the stops. We're asking you to tell the USDA to not move forward with this rule, but that's not all: We recently filed a lawsuit against the USDA to stop them from implementing this new rule. We know that this rule is bad for consumers, and we also believe it's illegal, so we're challenging it in every way we can. This rule makes two huge changes to our current regulations: The rule replaces government inspectors, who go through extensive training and are tasked to act in the interest of consumers, with untrained company employees. The rule allows for increased line speeds, so inspectors are forced to look at more birds in less time. What do you think the big chicken companies are most concerned about protecting: consumers' health or their own bottom line? Tell the USDA to protect consumers from Filthy Chicken! We also know that if these rules are implemented, they will pave the way for others in the meat industry to police themselves.
