Higher Learning Continuing Helping Haiti!

Chicago Southsiders Aid Haitian Relief


A group of Chicago doctors, nurses, and technicians under the leadership of Dr. Justin Akujieze, PhD
and Dean of Chicago State's Graduate School and Professor of Physics,
have just been cleared to go to Haiti on March 5th.

Supplies are sorely needed - please check the list and see what you have.


Haiti Environmental Rescue Organization (HERO)
Earthquake Relief

Under the auspices of Haiti Environmental Rescue Organization (HERO), a group
of doctors, nurses, and technicians will be leaving for Jacmel, Haiti on March 5,
2010, where relief effort will be concentrated.

Supplies Needed:

Medical
Alcohol pads, band-aids, compression stockings, gloves (any sizes), analgesics,
topical antibiotics, tongue depressors, q-tips, cotton balls, splints for legs, arms,
and ankles, gauzes (any size), ace bandages, betadine swabs or solution, alcohol
swabs, flashlights, batteries, small transistor radio (so the people can be updated
on the situation)

Also Needed

Blankets, sheets, mats (to lay on), non-perishable food, sandals or flip-flops,
toiletry sacks (containing soap, washcloth, tooth-brush, tooth-paste, deodorant),
sanitary pads

To Keep Children Busy
Books, pencils, pen, paper, small toys (not stuffed)
Money Contributions

HERO is a 501(c)3 Organization. Any monetary contribution made to this
organization and on behalf of the earthquake victims in Haiti is tax-deductible. As
a reminder, monetary contributions to Haiti’s earthquake relief from January to
March 2010 are deductible for the 2009 tax year.
